Bridging Education and Opportunity: Vulindlela Hosts Career Day for Grade 12 Learners

The Vulindlela Educational Trust is proud to share the success of its annual Career Awareness Campaign, held on 27 June 2025 in Tsomo. Hosted as part of the Department of Education’s Winter School Program, this impactful event reached 297 Grade 12 learners from eight high schools across the region.

Program Overview:

Morning Session (Centre 1) – 135 learners
Participating schools:

  • Tsomo High School
  • Gobinamba High School
  • Mangelengele High School

Afternoon Session (Centre 2) – 162 learners
Participating schools:

  • Ndema High School
  • Zwelivumile High School
  • Jongizizwe High School
  • Zwelixolile High School

Guest Presenters and Partners:

  • Ikhala TVET College – Led by Ms. Palesa Beja
  • King Hintsa TVET College – Represented by Mr. Luzuko
  • Sol Plaatje University – Dr. Malgas delivered an engaging presentation, also offering insights into the broader landscape of public universities in South Africa
  • Mr. Vuyisani Nkwenkwezi – A third-year student at the University of Johannesburg and Tsomo native, shared a powerful talk on student life and navigating the first-year experience

Engagement and Impact:

Learners participated actively during the interactive Q&A sessions, posing thoughtful questions and engaging deeply with speakers. The energy and enthusiasm demonstrated by these young minds reaffirmed the importance of career guidance in shaping future leaders.
