Health Day 2025: A Resounding Success in Tsojana

Global Action for Universal Health

Tsojana Resource Centre – Monday, 7 April 2025

The Vulindlela Educational Trust is proud to reflect on the overwhelming success of our Health Day 2025 initiative, held at the Tsojana Resource Centre. Aligned with our mission to break barriers to education and wellbeing, the event brought together over 120 participants — including learners, elders, and families from Tsojana and surrounding communities — for a transformative day of health empowerment, access, and awareness.

Free Health Services That Made a Difference

In partnership with the Department of Health, a 19-member clinical team delivered comprehensive, free healthcare services, ensuring that no one was left behind:

  • General medical consultations
  • Vision screenings
  • Cervical & prostate cancer screenings
  • Blood pressure and glucose testing
  • TB and HIV testing (courtesy of TB HIV Care)

TB HIV Care also presented a compelling address on living positively with chronic illnesses, reinforcing the importance of testing, awareness, and treatment adherence.

A Moment of Honour: Traditional Leadership in Unity

The event was further dignified by the presence of Chief Zulu and Chief Nkwenkwezi, whose endorsement of the event highlighted the importance of community leadership in promoting health and wellbeing. Their involvement symbolizes a cultural commitment to the right to health for all.

This event was not merely a service provision—it was a bold declaration of the Vulindlela Educational Trust’s mission in action: to create a thriving education ecosystem where health becomes a bridge, not a barrier, to success.

We extend our deepest gratitude to all volunteers, partners, speakers, and community members who helped make Health Day 2025 a meaningful and impactful event.
